WHAT TO DRINK?

Arak or araq is an alcoholic drink traditionally consumed and produced in the Middle East, particularly popular in Lebanon, Jordan and Syria.

Made from a new wine from which a 70% eau-de-vie is obtained, following a triple distillation. Scented with green anise seeds, this eau-de-vie will then be distilled one last time. The arak is then aged in clay jars of traditional shape, for a period of between 24 and 48 months. It is an anise drink, the taste of which is reminiscent of pastis and ouzo. Drink it with some ice and water, or you will find plenty of cocktail to enjoy it!

My best wine suggestions:

White wine:

Château Mourgues Du Grès Les Galets Dorés
Buti Nages Costières de Nîmes

Red wine:

Michel Gassier Costières de Nîmes Buti Nages (medium-bodied)
Rémi Pouizin Côtes du Rhône Villages Native (full-bodied)
Château Mourgues Du Grès Costières de Nîmes Les Galets (full-bodied)
